Barbara Gutmacher Girard & Robert Kelly Smithey ..

So, Barbara was the daughter of Martin Gutmacher Inc.. In the 1970's he had a womens clothes line in New York. He lived on Fifth Avenue in the 60's and Barbara lived on Fifth Avenue in the 80's. Robert Redford lived in her building and the elevator let you off in her living room type thing, older building, it was large with maids quarters. So, they had some money and she was in Marbella and London a lot.. and of course New York - she introduced me to Ben Shaw the King of Seventh Ave... Barbara was the "JAP" Jewish American Princess of all time !! Her favorite sex position was facing TIFFANY'S. Anyway of course I would have to get involved with her. She was something out of Cosmopolitan Magazine, anyway we used to go the the "Le Club" in New York, she was a member, and dance, they had a nice disco the owner was our friend.. Used to see him in Los Angeles too .. So, there is no kicker !!!

Bill Levitt - Alan King & OUI Magazine ...

So, I met Alan King - He was the yacht guest of William Levitt the famous realtor, ( King of suburbia ) on his 225 ft, yacht, named after his wife, Simone .. "La Belle Simone" she cost 8 million to build in 1972 there were 10 guests on board when they landed at the Puerto Banus they came into my boutique and Simone tried on several dresses and said she had a seamstress on board, took them and left.. Bill said we are having a party tonight .. join us !! I know now why they name these big ships and Yachts after women .. It is hard for me to give you a clue to the feeling. As I boarded her - I felt like I was getting in bed with Jacqueline Bisset, who I sat next to once, for a private screening of the movie hit. "The American Gigolo", how appropriate. So, anyway, Lucille Gould of the New York Gould's was on board.. there were 10 guests.. 30 crew, it cost 1 million a year to operate .. he sold it for 16 million 10 years later in 1982 - Alan King was doing his shtick just like I saw Jonathan Winters at another party the night before, do his.. I think they were feeling strange because people did not know who they were.. I knew who he was. He played to my audience of one, .. most people didn't understand his humor - a language problem too - so, it was a fun all stops out affair you name it was there and the paparazzi in force. Bill let two paparazzi, from Paris-Match on board. So, it was an 18 day cruise for Alan King later he paid them back with a "nonpaying guest" deal at Caesar's Palace,

his Tennis Tournament in 1975 and they lost over a million in stolen Jewelry and sued the hotel, big mess .. Anyway, in around 1977 I met Alan King at the 'Polo Lounge' for a drink, to catch up, and this hot young babe, want- to- be- starlet was all over him trying to get help for the movie business .. he was married, she didn't even have an 8x10, could of been a hooker he passed on her. I thought to myself in my small town honest mentality, this babe would be a knock out back in Missouri (a top what-ever) with-in this context of the high class Polo Lounge, she was way out of her league, but still !! She had the courage to walk into this place and give it a go - take her chance !! I liked her, and took her to my place for a swim in my 20x40 ft. pool in the Canyon .. to be continued .. so I'm back .. I take this girl from the Beverly Hills Hotel, told her to park her car down away from the front door and we leave for my Laurel Canyon half acre, built in the 1950's swimming pool with mermaids painted by a famous Dutch artist. So, I am not Alan King in the movie business but I did have one possible job. I could get for this babe!! This was in 1977/78 in 1972 Playboy had launched a magazine called "OUI" it was a sister magazine to a French one. They wanted to bring European flavor to the mass-market men's magazine business.. they had beautiful models, interviews and outstanding photography. I had been invited out to Malibu to the home of the producer, who did the porno comedy, in 1974 called "Flesh Gordon" he had a house in the hills, pool - whole show.. The movie cost him $700,000 bucks to make the hardcore part was sized by the police but he made a lot of money on it anyway. I also knew Bob Guccione and the Penthouse Pets .. I went to a big party they gave in Century City once.. I had been to the Playboy mansion. So, "OUI" magazine wanted to shoot a lay-out at my house in Laurel Canyon. It was private and the pool was perfect, it had a mural of mermaids painted by famous Dutch artist's.. So, I called them up and said if they used my model it was ok with me, if they used the house and my location fee could go to her as a bonus, so, they met with her and signed her up for it.. I got her the centerfold as well and they came over and wrecked my house moving everything around and all that, but it was a hot day in Laurel Canyon!! She was in the pool and it was very sexy ..........

Robert Kelly Smithey in Munich Germany ..

Axel Springer was to Germany and Europe what the Hearst family is to America. He was a  German publisher and had a very significant share of the market. In 1973 he came to Marbella, on a vacation with his 4th wife and a very promiscuous daughter..  She was voted one of the 100 hottest women in Germany by the Bild Magazine that Axel owned,  although the Der Spiegel magazine is supposed to be liberal. His Bild newpaper and magazine is very biased and some one bombed his Paris office .. a left-wing group.   I asked them to dinner and they say yes, I call my maid and cook and tell them to go to the market and clean the apartment, I'm going to have a dinner party. At the dinner party I show them all of my Berrocal art work, my Picasso plates - my Dali bronze horse with the clock melting on its back, on , two feet of granite , and lots more Magritte art work etc.. - I invite over as well Countess  von Bismarck who was part of the Prince Otto Von Bismarck's of Germany family..   I invited my friend Princess Maria Louise of Prussia who was tall and elegant and the cousin of Queen Sofia of Spain and the great-granddaughter of Kaiser Wilhelm! And, after all the Springers were commoners,  "THE PRESS AROUND EVERY CORNER" .. They   wanted me to come to Germany and give a fashion show at the famous Hotel Bayerisher Hof, in Munich, and he had paid me in German Marks, this is way before the Euro, and you wanted foreign money to take out of Spain when you traveled. So, also I have a 50K deal a year with Avon.  I don't have to be back in New York for a couple more months... So, I had money to go and Oktoberfest sounded like fun..   Axel gave  me a party at the Munich Olympic Stadium, in the bicycle ring ...  Axel, divorced his fourth wife and married  the nanny she was heiress to his huge money when he died in 1985 ..........Collage pictures in Germany Paparazzi ---------

Margaux Hemingway & Robert Kelly Smithey ...

So, It was in 1976 and I was at a lunch party at the home of Grace and Harold Robbins at there beautiful mediterranean style house high up in the hills of Beverly on the famous Tower Grove Drive .. He was renting but could of bought it out right with cash if he had wanted to. My friends Linda Christian and Taryn Power her daughter were there but I had my own car, was driving a white 1960 Jaguar Mark IX the saloon model. In walks tall supermodel Margaux Hemingway with her publicist. Grace puts me next to her at the lunch table and we hit it off. We talked and drank wine and went for a walk in there garden spent hours together until we were the last two people there. Grace had to go to Rodeo Drive for something and Harold said come into my study. The famous California sunset you could see and feel was just about to start. We sit down on a leather sofa with a glass top coffee table in front of it. Harold pulls out what looked like a golf ball - It was Peruvian flake cocaine - He takes out a pen knife and starts to shave off what looked like powdered sugar and it falls on this class table. If you have never experienced real 100% cocaine you do not know what you are missing!! This stuff shined it looked like fish scales and breaks off in flakes. He made three inch and a half long lines and then split them one line per nostril and you don't put your finger over the other one I learned. It was more like an opiate, I felted relaxed in a funny way it lasted about an hour or so and there was no comedown it just started fading. What an experience, EUPHORIA, unreal, and to be with beautiful Margaux that was the kicker - and the sunset WOW ...... anyway - she had to catch a plane to New York later that night the red/eye you call it.. I drove her to LAX and put her on the plane. We exchanged phone numbers and she said she wanted to go to Marbella and stay at the Incosol Medical Health Spa Hotel, to lose weight, models had to stay thin, you know !! I had a boutique there in the Hotel that lost me a lot of money, until, I closed it down. I said, I will arrange a room for you. I wanted to dress her!! She said, great, .. she was 6 ft. tall perfect for me, my barbie doll fantasy. This was just after she did the movie "Lipstick". Around, the time she had the million dollar Faberge contract. So, I left, myself, for New York, the next week and sublet my old apartment on East 72nd St. between Park and Lexington Ave.. for six months. The discotheque "Studio 54" opened up in 1977, and we both were there a lot, me, only in the beginning days of it, because I was living mostly in Europe.. So, I go back to Marbella and she calls me to say, she wants, and needs to stay at Incosol to dry out really from all the partying , and, I make the arrangements and she comes over and stays there and she is supposed to come into the Puerto Banus boutique for a dress fitting where I get to take there measurements and bra size, my favorite part of the process of making a dress, if they are hot and tall etc.. and the day she said she would be there, I have Champagne ready etc.. I think, I might get lucky with her !! She stood me up! I realized later that she had mental disorders .. she died in 1996 at age 42.. another drug overdose...

Jackie Lane was a princess ..

 Jackie Lane the actress was married to Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe from 1971 until 1984 and I liked Alfonso we drank together off season in the Puerto Banus..   He told me  he was building a development in Vero Beach,  Florida where you could fly your plane into your own garage/hanger from an air strip. I think John Travolta bought a house there..  He was so cheap with her, didn't buy her an important piece of jewelry and she only recieved one million in the divorce.  She was a model and British film star. Did "Tickle Me" with Elvis Presley in 1965 and she played a biker chick in "Hell's Belles" 1969 etc.. She owned a nice house in Marbella that she rented out.. I was 26 she was 35.   Not sure if she was born rich. Jackie to me was our Marbella, Spain's Costa del Sol answer to the St. Topez and Cote d' Azur and Brigitte Bardot of France.. I think Jackie was every bit as sexy as Brigitte ...

Diane and Egon von Furstenberg ...

I first met Egon in Marbella, and, also went to a party at his apartment in New York with Barbara Girard, his ex wife Diane, I met at a fashion industry event in New York. I was with Ben Shaw "The King of Seventh Avenue", and Barbara Girard. Ben Shaw had two fashion designers there getting an award, he owned the building at 550 Seventh Ave. So, Diane was with Murjani and had sold 60 million dollars worth of those wrap around dresses, that everybody had in Europe, she was not the first. Egon was responsible for her getting into the fashion business, but she did much better than he did. I had that same dress and so did Ungaro. Anyway, Ben Shaw had Alpert Capraro and we were supposed to sit at his table. Ben Shaw wanted to play a joke on Diane so he had Barbara Girard and myself sit down at her table , in her seat.
She comes in late and they have to get her another chair and squeeze her in -- until they find where Barbara and I are supposed to sit. Diane von Furstenberg was not happy. So, back to Egon - he had an affair with Paul Jabara in Hollywood is what I heard. the music disco guy. So, one night in Marbella in 1976, Egon would not let me leave "Bar Menchus" until we remembered the name of the boat captain in the movie "Jaws" - Robert Shaw. Egon was a rich Prince I think it was FIAT money .....

Jennifer Jones and the Pierre and Madison Hotels ..

So, in 1980 I left Los Angeles and flew to New York with Jennifer Jones Simon and her husband Norton and Elle Elliott -- We stayed a couple of weeks and then Jennifer and myself and Elle left for Washington D.C. with-out Norton and stayed at the Madison Hotel where we shared a suite together .. she was 58 and I was 27. I loved her raven hair and had given her a rare black tiger's eye necklace for her birthday a choker type thing.. I found in a Malibu jewelry store. She had to be at a function for the Huntington's Disease Council, I think she was the commissioner or something .. It was in October and we had a limo and drove around went to the White House etc.. As we sat in the back of the limo and talked she told me about her days with Selznick and how he was not her Svengali. She was like Audrey Hepburn she let men think they were in charge, but both of them had equal rights with men, I think. She won the Oscar at 24 and left it in a taxi.. lost it! What a Glamour Queen. Her daughter with David O. Selznick jumped out of George Masters penthouse apartment on Wilshire Blvd. on MOTHERS DAY! Or pushed not sure ! She had been to India where she went up a mountain to meet a Guru in a cave and took up five suitcases on horse back. Anyway, she said " all the great talent wanted to work for David", and, "I only had three hundred thousand dollars left when I met Norton in 1971 from the marriage to David"..
